DAY 01:              ARRIVE DEHRADUN – MUSSOORIE HIGHLIGHTS OF UTTARAKHAND

Arrive Dehradun. Pick up from airport and drive for Mussoorie (02hrs) Stop at Sahastradhara:  laterally meaning, the ‘thousand fold spring’ is situated at a distance of 11 kms. from Dehra Dun. The Baldi river and the caves provide a breath-taking view. The water here has a fall of about 9 metres and leaves an incrustation of lime of all its touches. Particles thus accumulating over the centuries have formed a projecting ledge, and a sort of cave, from the roof of which falls a perpetual shower. There is also a sulphur spring in which visitors often take bath. Its water is said to cure skin infections and possess other medicinal properties. Check into hotel n Musoorie.

 

Mussoorie:  Mussoorie derives its name from the plants of Mussoorie or shrubmansoor which are available in large quantities in this region. The lush green hills, the varied flora and fauna and the majestic view of the Shivalik ranges and the Doon Valley attracts hundreds of tourists both domestic and international to Mussoorie each years. Mussoorie is also famous for the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration where officers are trained for the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service. Arrive at Mussoorie, transfer to hotel, check in to hotel, rest of the day free for Leisure. overnight stay at hotel at Mussoorie.

 

DAY 02:                MUSSOORIE HIGHLIGHTS OF UTTARAKHAND

After breakfast, visit to Kempty fall, Kempty fall, municipal Garden, Gun hill,  Company Garden, Mall road etc.

Lal Tibba : This is regarded as the highest point in Mussoorie situated in area called “Landour”. Which is known to be the oldest inhabited place of Mussoorie

Gun Hill : Gun hiil is the second highest point in Mussoorie.it is also known as picnic spot for the locals. From this point, Mussoorie appears to be changing colors in every minute. It looks amazing from here

Municipal Garden : This is also known as Botanical Gardens of Mussoorie were established by geologist Dr. H. Fackner in the last century..

Kempty Fall : Kempty fall is just 12 kms down from Mussoorie on Mussoorie – Dehradun midway ,the beautiful falls were declared as a tourist destination by John Mekinan after  1835.The name Kempty is derived from ‘Camp – tea’, as the Britishers would organize their tea parties here. Past Kempty Fall, 12 – km downhill. Later back to hotel, free for leisure. Overnight stay at hotel at Mussoorie

 

DAY 03:                 MUSSOORIE – RISHIKESH              (2-3hrs)

After breakfast, Leave for Rishikesh (02hrs drive) Rishikesh:  Situated 24 km upstream from Haridwar, at the confluence of the chandrabhaga and Ganga, Rishikesh has long been a spiritual centre. It is said that the sage Raibhya Rishi did severe penance here and as a reward, God appeared to him in the form of Hrishikesh, hence the name.  Rishikesh has numerous ashrams, some of which are internationally recognized as centres of philosophical studies, yoga and meditation. Visit Lakshman Jhoola: A suspension bridge across the Ganga along the old route to the holy shrines of Badrinath and Kedarnath. Shivanand Jhoola: Also known as Ram Jhoola, this is a recently completed suspension bridge which spans the river near Swarg Ashram.    Evening visit Ghats to see the prayers. Overnight at hotel.

 

DAY 04:               RISHIKESH – HARIDWAR    (01 hrs) HIGHLIGHTS OF UTTARAKHAND

After breakfast drive to Haridwar. It is believed that when the Gods left their footprints on the land of Haridwar, metaphorically they also   left an indelible mark on the spiritual etho- of every Hindu- more so, the devout, who (would later follow their holy paths all across this blessed land. It has earned it’s sobriquet of honor as ‘The Gateway           to the Gods’.

Visit Bharat Mata Temple – 4 kms from Haridwar and is a multistory six-floor structure.

The ground floor has the exquisite sculpture of Bharat Mata. The temple also contains sculptures of             Buddha, Mahavir, Guru Nanak, Kabir, Tulsi Das, Meera, and Natraj. This is a real beautiful temple to see.  

 

Mansa Devi Temple -The temple on the top of Siwalik Hills is dedicated to the Goddess Mansa Devi, who was the daughter of Lord Shiva. One can enjoy the splendid view of the city from such a great height. The ropeway carriage operates between Upper Road, and Mansa Devi Temple. It is believed that whoever worships Goddess Mansa Devi, their wishes get fulfilled.

 

Evening witness the Ganga Aarti at Har-ki –Pauri.  Har-ki-Pauri is the main ghat known as Brahmakund, popular legend has it that Lord Vishnu left his footprint at Har-ki-Pauri. The whole environs echoes with the sounds of conch shells and bells and priests perform ritual worship of the river. Thousands of earthen lamps are floated in the water, which twinkle like gold in the darkness makes it an enthralling sight. Overnight at hotel.

 

DAY 05:             HARIDWAR –  NAINITAL  (220 KMS) HIGHLIGHTS OF UTTARAKHAND

After Breakfast check out from Hotel, Travel by surface from Haridwar to Nainital:  Arrive and check into hotel. (Can visit some temples in Haridwar before going to Nainital)

Nainital:  Referred to as the lake of three sages, or the Tri Rishi Sarovar as mentioned in the Manas Khand chapter of the Skanda Purana. As recorded in history, the three sages, Atri, Pulastya, and Pulaha stopped over at Nainital on their pilgrimage, to quench their thirst. Finding no water, they dug a hole and transferred some water into it to from the sacred lake of Tibet, Mansarovar. Thus the famous lake of Nainital came into existence. Another legend has it that the left eye or Nain of Lord Shiva’s wife Sati fell in this centre and formed an emerald eye shaped lake, and thus emerged the city of Nainital. Recent history records reveal that Nainital was brought into limelight by P. Barron, a British sugar merchant, in 1839. The beauty of Nainital with the central lake cushioned among the forests attracted this person to build a house named Pilgrim’s Cottage and settle in Nainital the most beautiful hill station of Kumaon.

 

DAY 06:            NAINITAL LAKE TOUR

After breakfast, Full day is at leisure to explore the hill retreat of Nainital. It is blessed with scenic natural splendor and varied natural resources. Visit to lakes tour of Bhim Tal, Sat Tal, Naukuchia Tal , Snow point Mall road, Boating Club, Cable Car Ride & Thandi Sadak etc.Later back to hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel at Nainital.

 

DAY 07:            NAINITAL CORBETT (4HRS) HIGHLIGHTS OF UTTARAKHAND

After Breakfast drive to Corbett. The park was named after Jim Corbett, the legendary hunter-naturalist turned author and photographer who spent most years of his life in this area and helped set up this park. On Arrival transfer to Hotel and check in. Evening free for sightseeing covering Garjia temple and Corbett fall. Dinner and overnight stay in Corbett.

 

DAY 08                  CORBETT PARK HIGHLIGHTS OF UTTARAKHAND

Early morning enjoy jungle safari at the Corbett National Park (at your own cost). Return to the resort for breakfast. In the afternoon, visit Corbett Wildlife Museum, Dhikala which offers an awesome uninterrupted panoramic view of the valley. Back to the resort. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Corbett Tiger Reserve: India’s first national park, cradled in the foothills of the Himalayas at 3300 feet asl, spreads over an area of 520 sq km. The magnificent Ramganga River flows through the entire length of the Park. Corbett has the highest density of tiger in India. Other carnivores include the leopard, elephant, bear, deer. Basking along the banks of the Ramganga are the slender snouted gharial and the marsh crocodile. There are watch towers, elephant safaris and jeep safaris for wildlife viewing.

 

DAY 09               CORBETT – DELHI HIGHLIGHTS OF UTTARAKHAND

After breakfast check out from hotel, drive to Delhi airport
